Cricket star Usman Khawaja and his wife Rachel have welcomed their first child, a baby girl.

The couple shared their exciting news on Friday, as well as photos of their adorable bundle of joy.

The new mother, 24, posted a picture of her husband lovingly watching their newborn swaddled up in a blanket.

She revealed in the caption that their baby’s name is Aisha Rahil Khawaja and that she was born on July 21 at 12:51am, weighing in at 3.27kg. 

‘Uzzy and I are so unbelievably in love with our little girl,’ Rachel said in the caption. 

‘There is nothing that can prepare you for that moment when you first meet your baby, it’s one that we will cherish forever,’ she added.

The batsman wrote in the caption: ‘Alhamdulillah [Arabic for praise be to God], so grateful to be blessed with our first child Aisha.’

‘Uzzy and I are so excited to share the news that we are inshallah [Arabic for God willing] expecting baby Khawajy in July 2020,’ she told her followers at the time.

She added: ‘Feeling so very blessed at the moment and can’t wait for this next chapter in our lives.’ 

The pair married in a stunning ceremony at Maleny Manor on the Sunshine Coast in April 2018. Rachel, who was a Catholic, converted to Islam shortly before the wedding.

Looking back at their fairy tale romance, Rachel sweetly said that it ‘feels like just yesterday that we met.’

‘I feel so blessed to have met Uzzy and I can’t imagine my life without him,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I am so excited to experience parenthood with him, I think he will be an amazing dad.’

She finished: ‘He always knows how to make me laugh and he is so calm, collected and caring so I think he will be amazing.’
