VR zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine coming to Oculus Quest

Arizona Sunshine is being completely rebuilt for its Oculus Quest port and fans can win a copy as part of an anniversary competition.

Back in late 2016, Arizona Sunshine was released on Steam, followed by a PS4 port the following year. Now, developers Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive have not only announced an Oculus Quest port, but it’ll be out tomorrow on 5 December.

Set in south-western America, players must single-handedly survive and escape from a seemingly never ending horde of zombies. While maybe not the most original of games, it received praise for its use of VR, where the player would have to rely on their own hand movements to grab weapons and keep zombies at bay.

The game is being completely rebuilt for the port and will also come with the original release’s multiplayer modes, so up to four friends can experience the campaign together or fight an endless stream of zombies in horde mode.

In addition, a contest is being held to celebrate Arizona Sunshine’s third anniversary, or AnniVRsary as the team calls it.

By sharing your favourite Arizona Sunshine moment, be it a GIF, video etc., you stand a chance at winning a copy of the game on the platform of your choice, with the grand prize coming with an Oculus Quest and beta access to the team’s next project, After The Fall.

After The Fall is another VR zombie shooter, but this time it will be set in the frozen wastelands of an alternate Los Angeles and see players fighting a new kind of zombie called Snowbreed. Aside from all manner of guns and other weapons, you’ll also have access to special abilities like mind manipulation.

Arizona Sunshine is currently available on Steam and PS4.
