Virgin Media to give seven kids TV channels for free including Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon


VIRGIN Media is giving customers seven kids TV channels for free to keep the little ones entertained during the coronavirus lockdown.

The free channels are available until April 21 to customers on Virgin Media’s Player and the Mixit and Maxit bundles without the Kids TV pick.

Families will be able to watch channels including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, NickToons and Nick Jr Too at no extra cost.

Across these channels, you’ll be able to enjoy shows such as Ben 10, Paw Patrol, Teen Titans and classics like Tom and Jerry, ScoobyDoo and Spongebob Squarepants.

There’s also a thousand episodes On Demand, so parents can pick and choose their kids’ favourite shows.

The kids channels are usually one of Virgin Media’s premium picks, which cost £5 per month.

Eligible customers don’t have to do anything to get the channels and there will be no change to their contract.

Mixit TV is included in Virgin Media’s “Big bundle”, which currently costs £29.99 per month including 100Mbps broadband and weekend landline calls.

While Maxit TV is included in the “Bigger bundle”, which currently sets you back £49 per month including 200Mbps broadband and weekend landline calls.

Due to the coronavirus crisis, Virgin Media has also given its 2.7million pay monthly mobile customers an extra 10GB data and unlimited minutes for free.

Plus, similar to the other big mobile providers, it’s zero-rated the NHS website so Brits can access vital information without using their data.

The announcement comes a day after BT Sport finally said it’ll let customers claim subscription costs.

In January, Virgin Media also announced more than one million customers will get a free broadband speed boost over the next few months.
