ITV has confirmed Vinnie Jones will return for The X Factor: Celebrity live shows.

The 54-year-old actor was forced to pull out of auditions on the show following the tragic death of his wife Tanya, who died from cancer around the time of filming.

At the end of the second episode, judge Simon Cowell calls Vinnie Jones two months later and tells him he has a place on the live shows if he’s open to returning.

Asked by Simon Cowell if everything’s okay, Vinnie said: ‘Yeah my daughter is fantastic, she’s been strong, it’s really brought us closer together.

‘We are just getting through it, you just learn to carry the grief really Simon.’

Asked about returning, Vinnie replied: ‘Well Tan’s pushed me really Simon, we knew it was all going on, and I put it to the family and Tan was very excited about it.

‘I’d love to, if you’d have us there. I’m with you, I trust you, I’m up for that.’

Simon replied: ‘Huge respect Vinnie, I can’t wait to see you.’

The X Factor: Celebrity live shows kick off next Saturday 26 October, with Vinnie joining a line-up including the Love Island supergroup and Megan McKenna.
