Vikings’ Katheryn Winnick has been leading the birthday celebrations for her co-star bestie Georgia Hirst.

After emerging back online following the festivities of Christmas, the 42-year-old took to Instagram to wish her fellow actress well on her big day.

In the snap, the duo could be seen beaming down the lens as they worked a SnapChat filter.

And, after tagging her buddy in the post, the Lagertha star wrote alongside the picture: ‘Happy Birthday to this beautiful & fierce Shieldmaiden.’

Fans were quick to comment on the snap where they called the duo ‘true queens’ before trying to get spoilers from the History Channel hit.

‘Waiting to see what her reaction is to what happened to little man,’ one wrote as another said: ‘Where is Ragnar?????’

Someone else added: ‘Hail to the best Shieldmaidens in the world!’

Ragga Ragnars, who plays Gunnhild in the historical saga, also joined in on the posts and shared a collage of selfies on her Story.

The posts come shortly after Vikings had its very own Game Of Thrones Red Wedding moment, seeing Georgia’s character Torvi lose her son, Hali.

After Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) went off to Norway in an attempt to free Harald (Peter Franzén) from King Olaf’s (Steven Berkoff) reign, the bandits he previously exiled from Kattegat saw their opportunity to attack Lagertha’s (Katheryn Winnick) new farm.

Rounding up her troops, the retired Shieldmaiden dug up her sword that was buried in the ground and prepared her people for battle.

Just when we thought the coast was clear and our people had won the fight, Hali ran out into the open and picked up a sword that as twice his height, waving it around in celebration.

But there was one enemy left, who watched the tot shout out to his grandma: ‘Look Lagertha, look at me!’

Knowing how crushing it would be to kill the bambino, White Hair fled towards him on his horse and ended up striking the youngster with his sword.

Torvi is yet to find out that her tot has been murdered, but we can only imagine how devastated she will be when hearing the tragic news.

Vikings season six continues on New Year’s Day on the History Channel and Amazon Prime.
