Marvel Entertainment is getting into the world of professional esports with a partnership that’ll see Team Liquid members donning jerseys and shirts inspired by Captain America, Iron Man, and the Avengers.
Marvel Entertainment has entered into a year-long partnership with Team Liquid that will see member of the professional esports organization don special Avengers-inspired jerseys at various events and tournaments throughout the year.
The first of these collaborations debuted at the EU vs NA Rift Rivals League of Legends competition in Los Angeles this weekend. Team Liquid, representing North America, fittingly wore Captain America jerseys.
Other inspired jerseys and merchandise include an Iron Man-themed jersey and an Avengers: Endgame-themed jersey. There’s also a Team Liquid x Marvel logo tee with more content and merchandise likely to come in the future.
“Our goal for this partnership was to go beyond just putting a logo on something – it’s really a creative collaboration between the two teams,” said Team Liquid creative director Damian Estrada (via Forbes). “The first step was making custom jerseys to celebrate the heroes that we all love from Marvel, and to use them to power our own heroes – the pro players carrying the hopes and dreams of fans all over the world. The Team Liquid apparel team worked really hard to blend the worlds of heroes and competitive gaming in a way that would appeal to fans on both sides.”

In addition to the already revealed jerseys and merchandise, Team Liquid COO Mike Milanov promised “a lot of fun activations in the works that will be cool for fans on both sides.”
