VIDEO GAMES: DUCKTALES: REMASTERED Has Farewell Sale Before Leaving Digital Storefronts – Toonado.com

Capcom announced that DuckTales: Remastered will be leaving digital storefronts this week. Released in 2013, DuckTales: Remastered is a high-definition remake of the original DuckTales game, released in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The original action-platformer was, of course, based on the popular Disney animated TV series of the same name. In the game, you play as Scrooge McDuck and travel around the world, and even outer space, to find five treasures to further increase his fortune. DuckTales: Remastered featured essentially the same gameplay, but improved upon the graphics and audio, and also featured an expanded storyline and a full voice cast that included soem of the voice actors and actresses from the original animated series.

For reasons not specified, DuckTales: Remastered will be removed from digital storefronts on August 8, 2019, and will no longer be available for purchase. As a last chance incentive, Capcom is offering the game at 75% off on “most platforms” before it gets removed.

The good news is if you have already purchased the game digitally, you’ll still be able to re-download it, even after its moved. Its removal also won’t impact the disc-based versions of the game, which should still install and play normally.

DuckTales: Remastered is a beautiful hand-crafted reimagining of one of the most cherished 8-bit titles of all time. Go back to one of the golden ages of gaming, now refined with a level of detail that will please the most hardened devoted Disney or retro Capcom fan alike.

Although DuckTales: Remastered will be removed from digital storefronts, you’ll technically still be able to obtain it by purchasing The Disney Afternoon Collection, a compilation featuring six games originally released for the NES based on animated series from the television block The Disney Afternoon: DuckTales, DuckTales 2, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2.
