Victoria Beckham 'mistook Michael Sheen for a tramp trying to abduct his own daughter'

Michael Sheen claimed Victoria Beckham once mistook him for a tramp who was trying to kidnap his own daughter.

The Good Omens cast member alleged Victoria was confused due to his hairy appearance when they bumped into each other at the time they met at an ice rink in Los Angeles.

In an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the 50-year-old said: “I was in LA and went to pick (my daughter) up from an ice skating lesson.

“When I got there the Beckhams were there checking out the rink for lessons.

“I was quite hirsute then and when Posh saw me she called security thinking I was a tramp trying to abduct my daughter!”

Sheen, was with his daughter Lily, 20, who he shares with his ex Kate Beckinsale, at the time he met the Spice Girl.

He did not specify when the incident occurred.

Sheen also lifted the lid on new show Good Omens, which he stars in alongside Michael Sheen.

Sheen continued: “When the series became a possibility Neil assumed I would want to play the demon, but when I read a very early version of the script I thought, ‘I can’t do that, I’m not good enough. I’m better for the angel part, this suits me’.

“We had a very awkward dinner and he finally asked how I would feel about playing the good character and David the demon. It was perfect.”

Tennant also spilled on the new highly-anticipated show, revealing he was nervous to bring the book to the small screen.

He explained: “People have loved the book for 30 years and they have ideas as to what these characters are and we have to fulfil that dream.”

The Graham Norton Shows airs Fridays at 10.35pm on BBC One
