Victoria Beckham hosts ‘virtual’ 46th birthday party

Victoria Beckham may be celebrating her birthday in lockdown, but the coronavirus crisis won’t stop her from celebrating.

The fashion designer, who turns 46 on Friday, will be handing over her Instagram account to DJ Fat Tony, who will play a selection of her favourite songs for everyone to enjoy.

Beckham said the DJ has given her “the best birthday present” and urged her followers to “turn the music up and have a dance” at home.

Beckham, who is worth reportedly worth £769 million, has also asked her friends and family to donate to The Children’s Society charity instead of buying her a gift this year.

“They provide a lifeline for children hidden from view in the coronavirus crisis, and in even more danger now from abuse, exploitation, neglect or hunger,” she explained on Instagram. “Please support them if you can.

The music will be streamed live from Beckham’s account at 8pm on Friday.

The Beckhams, including David and children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, are isolating at the family home in the Cotswolds.

Brooklyn, the couple’s eldest child, is in the US with girlfriend Nicola Peltz.

Beckham has been fairly active on Instagram as she keeps herself entertained throughout lockdown, which has now been extended for a further three weeks.

She jokingly shared a baby picture of herself in a red rain mac, and teased that it wasn’t too dissimilar to one of her fashion lines in 2012.

The former Spice Girl isn’t the only celebrity who is using their social media platform to entertain fans while in quarantine – with several stars now broadcasting chat shows, singalongs and beauty tutorials. See a full list here.
