Victor Wanyama leaves Tottenham to join Thierry Henry's Montreal Impact side

Victor Wanyama has left Tottenham to join MLS club Montreal Impact on a free transfer.

The Kenya international has agreed a three-year deal with Thierry Henry’s side, subject to receiving international clearance and passing his medical.

Former Celtic midfielder Wanyama made 97 appearances for Spurs following his £11million move from Southampton in 2016, scoring seven goals.

The 28-year-old has featured just four times for Jose Mourinho’s side this season and has now called time on his career in North London to link up with the Canadian side.

An additional message on the Tottenham’s Twitter account added: “From the goal in our last game at White Hart Lane to THAT strike at Anfield, thank you for providing us with some incredible memories Victor Wanyama.”
