Victor Lindelof 'to be offered new £150,000-a-week deal' by Man Utd

Manchester United are set to offer defender Victor Lindelof a new big-money deal, according to reports.

Lindelof, who joined the Red Devils for £30million in 2017, has established himself as a regular member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s back-line after a shaky start to life at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old’s current deal runs until 2021, with the option for an extra year, but the Sun reports that he is set to be rewarded with a three-year extension.

According to the publication, the deal would also see the Sweden international double his current wages from £75,000-per-week to around 150,000-per-week.

It is claimed that Solskjaer is keen to get Lindelof to commit his long-term future to the club in a bid to ensure that his first-choice defence has a solid foundation on which to grow together over the next few years.

Lindelof’s centre-back partner Harry Maguire, who recently joined the club for a world record £80million fee, signed a six-year deal with the club earlier this summer, with the option for a further year.

The club can also choose to extend right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s contract by an extra 12 months after he penned a five-year-deal upon his arrival from Crystal Palace .

Meanwhile, Luke Shaw signed a long-term extension in October 2018 which could see the left-back remain at Old Trafford until 2024.

All four players started United’s opening three games of the new Premier League season in what appears to be Solskjaer’s first-choice back-line.

And after spending around £120million strengthening his defence over the summer, the Red Devils boss recently voiced his desire to have a strong and consistent back four.
