Velvet slippers for the plushiest WFH wardrobe

Much ink has been spilled about the complexities of the ideal WFH outfit (spoiler alert: invest in a good pair of elasticated trousers and you’re halfway there).

But what has often been overlooked is the subject of what to put on your feet.

Certainly, there is a strong argument for a toasty pair of cashmere bed socks. But as far as the plushiest of WFH wardrobes go, you can’t beat a pair of deliciously decadent velvet slippers.

With little else left to Instagram than your feet propped up on a pouffe, velvet slippers have become the unlikely style star of this spring among the stay-at-home set. Bonus points for interest – the more sparkly and intricately embroidered, the better.

From ASOS’s bow-topped bargains to Gucci’s splurge-worthy slip-ons, here’s our guide to making staring at your own two feet for the next few weeks an altogether more pleasurable pursuit.
