Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler’s break up down to ‘distance’ and there is ‘no bad blood’

Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler reportedly split because of distance

Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler’s break up is thought to have come down to a ‘matter of distance’.

Reports revealed that Vanessa and her boyfriend of nearly nine years have now called it quits on their romance, with the 31-year-old star having told her closest pals about the split.

And while her heart may be hurting, Vanessa has become all of our post break-up inspiration, as she brushed off the split and rocked up to the Bad Boys For Life premiere looking nothing short of fabulous.

What a gal.

Now, sources have revealed the reason behind her recent split and claim that ‘distance’ got in the way of Vanessa and Austin’s relationship.

‘They’re just shooting on two different continents and it’s a matter of distance,’ an insider told E! News. ‘There is no bad blood at all, and they have a lot of respect for each other.’

A reunion isn’t exactly off the cards, either, as they added that the exes are ‘going to see what happens’ in the future.

That probably won’t be music to the ears of High School Musical fans, though, as they’re already rooting for Vanessa to rekindle her romance with ex-boyfriend Zac Efron, who she starred alongside in the Disney movies.

The pair were a real life Troy and Vanessa, after getting together during filming and went on to date for five years, before splitting in 2010.

Now Vanessa is single again, fans have been eagerly tagging Zac in all her Instagram posts and basically telling him to get back in there.

‘Zac Efron come get your woman!!’ one fan urged. ‘Lol 2020 IS ZANESSA YEAR.’

The only thing is Zac and Vanessa no longer speak, as Vanessa revealed she and the Bad Neighbours actor lost contact some time ago – even if she did value their relationship.

Vanessa explained that dating Zac was good for her at the height of her HSM fame because it helped to keep her grounded.

She said: ‘We kind of blew up — it was this massive phenomenon and all eyes were on me and it’s just a really foreign, weird thing to go through — but by being in a relationship, I feel like it kind of kept me stabilised and grounded.

‘I had someone to lean on who was going through it, as well.’
