Vanderpump Rules is coming back! Season nine ‘scheduled to begin filming next month’ after major cast shake-up

Season nine of Vanderpump Rules is ‘scheduled to begin filming next month’ after a nearly 18-month hiatus, according to Variety.

Bravo confirmed the resurgence of the popular reality show on Instagram with a snap of restaurateur and the show’s namesake, Lisa Vanderpump, after a massive cast shake-up following the end of season eight which aired in June 2020 from footage the year before.

‘Life is officially good as gold because #PumpRules is coming back for Season 9,’ the network wrote on Instagram with a nod to Scheana Shay’s popular song from the show. ‘Who’s working at SUR? Who’s together? Who’s going to get us a Pumptini? We have SO many questions!’ 

TomTom bar owners Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval will likely be a focal point of the show as they navigate the new industry after closing down for more than a year due to COVID-19. 

Ariana Maddix, Katie Maloney, James Kennedy and Raquel Levis are also reportedly returning to the show.

Lala Kent and Scheana Shay will also return, but it’s unclear their roles as they’ve transitioned from SUR staff to first-time mothers. 

Kent gave birth to her daughter Ocean in March while Shay is currently in labor and due to give birth at any moment to her daughter. 

The ninth season could only begin filming with ‘a comprehensive health and safety plan’ due to new COVID-19 filming restrictions,’ according to Bravo
