Valencia vs Barcelona live stream: How to watch La Liga fixture online and on TV today

Barcelona travel to Valencia looking to maintain their place at the top of La Liga.

Quique Setien’s side lead rivals Real Madrid on goal difference heading into the fixture, while Valencia are currently sitting in seventh, 10 points adrift of the runaway leaders.

It will be Setien’s third game in charge of the club and he will be hoping for an improved performance from his team after an indifferent outing against UD Ibiza in the Copa del Rey during week.

Valencia did little to regain momentum in a 1-0 win over Logrones in their round of 32 tie, after being hammered 4-1 by Mallorca last weekend, when captain Daniel Parejo was sent off.

Manchester United are chasing two strikers – Odoin Ighalo and Islam Slimani – as they desperately chase cover for the injured Marcus Rashford. Slimani is on loan at Monaco while Ighalo is at Shanghai Shenhua.

Sky Sports reports that the pair are on their shopping list, while a £30m offer has been submitted for Birmingham City’s teenage talent Jude Bellingham

Some transfer news of a different kind…

Pablo Mari has landed in London to complete his move from Flamengo to Arsenal.

The Brazilian centre-back arrived with director Edu and confirmed to Goal that he is “excited” to be joining the Gunners.

DONE DEAL! Jermain Defoe has made his loan move from Bournemouth to Rangers permanent.

Chelsea are thought to be looking at Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes, who is out of contract this summer. Might the teenager depart Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge?

Reports in Italy suggest Roma want to sign Real Sociedad winger Adnan Januzaj.

The 24-year-old former Manchester United winger and Belgium international has four goals and four assists in 13 games this season for the Spanish club.

Barcelona are eyeing a move for Chelsea’s out-of-favour Olivier Giroud and could bring the big striker to the club by the end of the month as a player who can play with his back to goal and be a focal point for Quique Setien’s team.

Tottenham have turned their attentions to Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose as they look to keep up their push to finish in the top four, and the latest is that the Spanish club must decide whether to play their distracted star this weekend against Mallorca.

Juventus are closing in on a swap deal with PSG for Layvin Kurzawa, with the French club receiving Mattia De Sciglio in return.

Arsenal were keen on the left-back, but Juventus have seemingly won the race and emerged as a more attractive destination for the 27-year-old, according to Goal.

AC Milan are in the hunt for Benfica’s Florentino Luís, offering an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy for £50m. There is plenty of interest from France too for the 20-year-old deep-lying midfielder.

Here’s an interesting one. Edu, the former Arsenal player and now director at the club, has been caught in conversation with Flamengo centre-back Pablo Mari at an airport in Rio. According to ESPN, the 26-year-old defender is set for a medical next week.

DONE DEAL! The first of the day, and it’s a big one: RB Leipzig have snapped up Dani Olmo from Dinamo Zagreb for around £22m.

The talented 21-year-old midfielder came through Barcelona’s La Masia academy before switching to Dinamo Zagreb in 2015, and is already a full Spain international.

First up, it’s Christian Eriksen and the news the Dane is on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Inter Milan.

He is expected to fly to Italy for a medical early next week to seal the deal, in which he is expected to earn a tidy £320,000 per week, according to Sky Sports

Hello and welcome along to today’s transfer live blog. We’ll bring you all the latest rumours, gossip and done deals on what is likely to be another busy day as the window deadline now draws close, so stick around…

Here is everything you need to know:

When is it?

The match kicks off at 3pm (BST) on Saturday 25 January.

How can I watch it?

The game will be broadcast live on LaLiga TV via Premier Sports with coverage beginning as early as 11am.

Team news

Valencia: Los Che will be without Dani Parejo due to suspension, while Cristiano Piccini, Goncalo Guedes and Manu Vallejo are all ruled out with injury. However, striker Rodrigo may be able to return from a knee injury amid links that he could move to the Nou Camp this month, meaning Maxi Gomez may well miss out on a place in the starting eleven.

Barcelona: Jordi Alba, Samuel Umtiti and Arturo Vidal are all likely to return, while Nelson Semedo and Ansu Fati could drop to the bench. Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez remain absent, while Neto is also a doubt having sprained his ankle against Ibiza.

Official line-ups

Valencia: Domenech; Wass, Paulista, Garay, Gaya; Ferran, Kondogbia, Coquelin, Soler; Gomez, Gameiro

Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Piqué, Umtiti, Jordi Alba; Arthur, Busquets, Frenkie de Jong; Messi, Griezmann, Ansu Fati.

Prediction

Valencia have a strong recent record against the Spanish champions, famously defeating them in the Copa del Rey final last year to end the club’s trophy drought. However, Barcelona are likely to be re-motivated after a somewhat disappointing performance against Ibiza under Quique Setien. Antoine Griezmann found form in the fixture, scoring twice, while Lionel Messi was rested. Ultimately, the superior quality should shine through.

Valencia 1-3 Barcelona
