A GROUP of visitors at Universal Studios theme park in Orlando were caught on camera appearing to flash Nazi salutes and a hand gesture associated with far-right groups on a ride.
The park has since said the tourists would be banned from the park if they tried to return.
The Revenge of the Mummy ride’s camera captured the moment that a row of four passengers appeared to throw up a Nazi salute with their right arm.
The guests can also be seen making the “OK” sign with their other hand, which some groups have adopted to mean “white power.”
The image appeared on various social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.
It was eventually uploaded to Reddit, where the post was eventually locked.
The image was reportedly captured during the park’s Universal Passholder Appreciation Night on Sunday.
The photo was posted to Universal Studio’s Annual Passholder page, but appears to have been removed.
Why is the okay symbol associated with the far right movement?
According to the ADL, the “okay” hand gesture became a hate symbol in 2017.
A hoax on the website 4chan stated the three fingers symbolised a ‘w’ and the circle and the palm represented a ‘p’ – associating it with “white power”.
While a hoax, it then gained traction and has since been adopted by white supremacists.
A Universal spokesperson told Sun Online Travel: “Hate has no place here and we have no tolerance for any display of hatred within our destination.
“We stand for diversity, inclusion and respect.
“This photo is appalling and we pulled it from our Facebook page as soon as we became aware of it.
“Any guest using hate speech or displaying hate symbols will be immediately removed from our destination and not allowed to return.
It’s unclear if the guests in the photo were identified and if any action was taken against them by the park.
Reddit users slammed the adults, calling them “disgusting” and calling for them to be named and shamed.
