Guest nation: China
Each season, Pitti Immagine Uomo invites a group of designers from a guest country to take over an area of the trade show. Spring/summer 20 saw the turn of 10 designers from China: Pronounce, 8ON8, Danshan, Ffixxed Studios, Percy Lau, Private Policy, Samuel Guì Yang, the Flocks, Staffonly and Untitab. Highlights included Nan Lang’s ‘the Flocks’ label. A minimalistic workwear aesthetic of ‘daily clothing’ that riffs on traditional Chinese silhouettes, and Samuel Guì Yang’s first menswear collection (designed with business partner Erik Litzén) exploring their respective cultural backgrounds.
