Mesut Ozil looks set to stay at Arsenal, with no interest elsewhere in taking the German midfielder off Unai Emery’s hands.

The 30-year-old World Cup winner earns a whopping £350,000-a-week at the Emirates and is thought to be one of the players Emery was keen to offload in order to boost his own transfer budget.

Emery is hamstrung by a relatively miniscule £45million budget, and the north London club are open to offers for Ozil ahead of the transfer deadline in order to reduce the wage bill.

Ozil’s performances were below par in the 2018/19 season and his huge wage demands are perhaps putting other clubs off.

And Arsenal have received no formal offers to take him off their hands, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners are hoping to land Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney and St Etienne defender Williams Saliba but will struggle to go on a mass recruitment drive without significant player sales.
