ARRIVING extra early at London Heathrow Airport or getting stuck during a layover can mean hours of boredom, especially if you’re trying to avoid spending money.

What most passengers don’t realise is that there are a number of free treatments and tastings that you enjoy while at Duty Free.

Most travellers are reluctant to head to the shops in case they are persuaded to buy stuff.

However, many of the beauty counters offer free express massages, facials or skincare and make-up classes.

There are even free whisky tastings for anyone wanting to kill a few hours by trying out the booze on offer.

Even better, you don’t need to buy anything to enjoy the freebies.

Here are the best things to try without spending a penny at London Heathrow Airport:

Massages

Elizabeth Arden – Hand massage or neck massage, as well as eye area treatments.

Whisky tastings

Passengers can try out a range of whiskys on offer at Duty Free.

Obviously you will need to be 18, and will have to show ID if asked.

Personal shopping services

A free personal shopping service is available if you’re planning to spend big in the clothes stores, and it even includes complimentary champagne.

It just needs to be booked 48 hours before you travel.

New airport robot, KLM Care-E, scans your boarding pass, carries your luggage to your gate and even stops off for duty free

London Heathrow isn’t the only airport to have free treatments and experiences.

Changi Airport in Singapore also offers passengers some great things to try without spending any money.

Free drinks, massage chairs and tours can be found in some of the terminals.
