UK general election: How MPs voted on whether to have snap poll on December 12

MPs tonight voted in favour of a pre-Christmas general election on December 12.

Boris Johnson‘s Early Parliamentary General Election Bill won a landslide victory with 438 votes to 20, a majority of 418.

The Prime Minister is looking to secure a majority in the House of Commons to push his Brexit deal through.

Mr Johnson told reporters after the vote that it’s time for the country to “come together to get Brexit done”.
