The Conservative Party’s lead over Labour has dropped into single digits as Jeremy Corbyn continues to pick up voters from smaller parties, according to a new poll.
A tracker of polls, compiled by Britain Elects and the New Statesman, shows Boris Johnson’s lead dropping down to 9.6 points as the Labour Party made gains.
This is despite the Tories picking up another 0.1 points.
The gap between the Conservatives and Labour has been hovering around 10 per cent for the past few days.
According to the new poll, Labour has picked up 1.4 points, and now sits on 32.8 per cent compared to the Conservatives at 42.4 per cent.
Jo Swinson’s Liberal Democrats has lost support in the recent poll – the anti-Brexit party has dropped by a point and now sits at 13.1 per cent.
Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party has sunk by 0.4 points to 3.4 per cent, while the Green Party have slipped 0.2 points to 3 per cent.
The gap closing between the two main parties comes as campaigning for the general election heads into its last week.
Jeremy Corbyn could be hounded by claims of his party have not dealt with anti-Semitism in their ranks, while Boris Johnson has been accused of dodging scrutiny as he refuses to sit down for interviews with Andrew Neil or Julie Etchingham .
