Diane Stirling, who lives in Warnham, said: “I know we are due a meteor shower but they definitely were not meteors.
“I first saw a flash, almost like a plane’s light flashing, but just one, then a trail and it literally disappeared.”
And Kevin Leader of Rudgwick said: “I saw an object at the front of the plane which then went to the back and then went vertically at speed.”
However, there is no concrete evidence whatsoever of alien UFOs visiting our planet, or that aliens exist.
Instead, experts often explain UFO sightings through an effect known as pareidolia.
