UFO report: Barack Obama thinks 'new religions would pop up' over alien encounter

The US Department of Defense (DoD) is expected to present its so-called Pentagon report to the US Congress this month. The highly anticipated document is set to reveal what US intelligence agencies know about UFOs or, according to official jargon, UAPs. A slew of has reignited public interest in the UFO phenomenon, with former presidents, lawmakers and politicians joining the conversation.

He has now revealed he thinks the encounter would be profound for humanity as a whole but would not change his personal outlook on politics.

He said: “It’s interesting. It wouldn’t change my politics at all.

“Because my entire politics is premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating in the middle of space.”

Mr Obama went on to say his political beliefs are predicated upon the idea “the differences we have on this planet are real” and they can be a great source of joy and misery.

He added: “We’re just a bunch of humans with doubts and confusion.”

But throwing into the mix promises to shake things up, which Mr Obama thinks may benefit or further divide humanity, with new religions popping up to deal with the paradigm shift.

The question of are we alone in the universe has been one of the most pressing scientific quandaries of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Mr Obama hopes meeting aliens will help people find some common ground, saying: “And I would hope that the knowledge that there are aliens out there would solidify people’s sense that what we have in common is a little more important.

“But no doubt, there would be immediate arguments about, well, we need to spend a lot more money on weapons systems to defend ourselves.

“And new religions would pop up, and who knows what kind of arguments we’d get into.

“We’re good at manufacturing arguments for each other.”

The former president has previously opened up about UFOs to comedian James Corden on the Late Late Show on CBS.

He addressed a number of Pentagon-verified videos that appear to show mysterious craft near US military assets.

The Pentagon declassified three UFO videos last year to “clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real”.

Although many believe the videos prove alien ETs have been visiting our planet, there is a national security angle considered by others.

According to some politicians, .

Mr Obama said: “What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there are – there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are.

“We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern.

“And so, you know, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”
