North American esports companies UEL Esports (Ultimate Endgamers League) and Unanimous Games have partnered with Nigerian company Game Evolution Esports to create a gaming centre at the Omniverse 2025, the largest gaming event in Africa.

As a part of the partnership, the companies have announced a $1m (~£764,000) tournament to take place during the Omniverse event in 2025.

The Ultimate Endgamers League is a multi-title esports competition based in the United States that has teams competing in more than 30 games, making it different from other single-game esports events. The UEL’s expansion into Africa will be supported by a growing local network of Hubs, places for gamers to demonstrate skills and enter the UEL. UEL has already opened a hub in Laos, Nigeria, and has close ties to the country’s leadership, including its Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy.

The Omniverse 2025 partnership will be focused on a gaming centre that will be created during the Omniverse Africa Summit 2025. The centre will host esports events that will have a total prize pool of $1m during the Summit, and is, according to the organisers, expected to be one of the central attractions of the event.

The teams that will participate in the Omniverse competitions will be selected from the amateur teams that compete in a series of competitions in the UEL Hubs. UEL also noted that the best teams will potentially be the expansion teams for the UEL in its next season.

Titus Walker, CEO of UEL Esports Inc., commented: “Becoming the premier partner for the Gaming Center at Omniverse 2025 is a remarkable opportunity for UEL Esports Inc. We look forward to showcasing our latest innovations and contributing to an exceptional event that will set new standards in the global gaming industry.”
