Uber Eats is offering Bumble users 25 per cent off to go on virtual date

A new era of dating is well and truly upon us. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent social distancing regulations, going on a date in person is next to impossible at the moment – which is why singles are turning to virtual dating instead.

To encourage the new movement, meal delivery platform Uber Eats has teamed up with female-first dating platform Bumble to offer Bumble users 25 per cent off so that users can virtually dinner date from their respective sofas.

The discount is available for users in London, Birmingham and Manchester, where Uber Eats is available, and to take advantage of the discount users need to match with the Bumble x Uber Eats profile to redeem the code.

The codes are valid until Sunday, April 26 and only one code may be used per user.

Bumble says 83 per cent of its users have expressed interest in its in-app video dating feature and the platform has also added a ‘virtual dating’ badge to help its users filter their matches according to who else is looking to virtually date.

At the end of March, Uber Eats announced it would offer 100,000 free meals to NHS workers and 200,000 free Uber rides. It said anyone with an NHS email address can claim a £10 Uber Eats voucher and a £15 Uber voucher, while NHS workers in London can also use JUMP bikes free of charge to get to and from work.
