Timo Werner’s team-mate has declared the forward ready to play for any top club in Europe amid rumours Manchester United and Liverpool are trying to sign him.

Liverpool have been tracking Werner for over a year, while United and Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the German and are keen to beat the Reds to his signature.

Werner has a release clause of £50million and the 24-year-old has repeatedly talked up a switch to Liverpool.

Speaking to ESPN, RB Leipzig star Tyler Adams hailed his team-mate and predicted he would slot into any team in the world.

‘It’s hard to say one thing,’ Adams replied when asked Werner’s best qualities.

‘People are often focused not just on his goalscoring ability but how fast he is, he’s absolutely rapid.

‘There’s just so many roles you can fit him in, that’s what makes him such a unique piece.

‘If you’re able to score in that many different ways, you’ll be able to play at the highest level for a really long time, [for] the biggest clubs in the world, the national team.

‘He’s a pleasure to play with. It makes it easy playing as a midfielder knowing you can play the ball over the top and he’ll catch it no matter what. He’s a great guy and a great player.’

Werner is thought to prefer a move to Liverpool after their record-breaking season.

Fellow German Jurgen Klopp is in charge at Anfield and after Leipzig’s Champions League clash against Tottenham, Werner was asked about the transfer links to the Reds.

‘I know Liverpool is the best team in the moment in the world,’ Werner said to Viasport.

‘When you’re linked with that team it makes me very proud.

‘But in case of that, it’s a pleasure but I know at Liverpool there are a lot of good players and I know I have to improve myself to learn much more things to get on this level to play there.’
