Two more huge names are joining Marvel's 'Black Widow' movie

This is very exciting…

Rachel Weisz and David Harbour are reportedly set to join the cast of Marvel’s Black Widow movie.

As phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to take shape, it’s claimed that the award-winning stars will play an integral role in Black Widow’s first solo outing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harbour will play a secret role in the Avengers follow-up, which sees Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as the formidable Natasha Romanoff.

It’s not his first foray into the superhero world either – with his anticipated portrayal of Hellboy finally hitting cinemas next week. Harbour has also previously enjoyed small roles in DC’s maligned Suicide Squad and played a corrupt politician in The Green Hornet.

While Weisz is somewhat less versed in the superhero world, the role comes after she won huge acclaim earlier this year for her appearance as Sarah Churchill in The Favourite. Weisz previously won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in 2006’s The Constant Gardner.

Other stars currently attached to the project include Florence Pugh, who was recently seen in Fighting With My Family.

Black Widow will also make history by having the MCU’s first solo female director in Cate Shortland, who previously directed the acclaimed Berlin Syndrome.

While few details are known about the plot of Black Widow’s first solo outing, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently denied reports that it will have Marvel’s first R-rating.

“It never was going to be,” he explained. “Somebody writes, ‘I hear it’s R-rated!’ And then everybody writes it up.”

Meanwhile, Black Widow will be seen next in Avengers Endgame – which hits cinemas at the end of this month.
