Twitch Streamer DrLupo Raises $2.3M for St. Jude in 24 hours

Professional Twitch streamer Ben “DrLupo” Lupo has exceeded the goal of his annual charity stream for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the third year in a row, raising $2.3M USD in 24 hours. The total raised by Lupo’s event combined has now nearly reached $10M. According to a release, $10M will constitute the most ever raised by a single creator for the hospital.

The broadcast featured several other popular Twitch content creators including Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who has frequently collaborated with Lupo in the past.

Around $1M of the total came from Twitch itself, which also donated $1M during Lupo’s event last year.

This year, content creators across Twitch have raised millions for various charities. Speedrunning marathon Summer Games Done Quick also raised $2.3M during its week-long event in support of Doctors Without Borders. Sketch comedy and streaming troupe Loading Ready Run raised nearly $1M in its annual marathon Desert Bus, which supports Child’s Play – bringing its total to over $7M lifetime.
