Turn their first day at school pictures into front page news

The new school uniform is on, the socks are pulled up, and tying a tie has (almost) been mastered – and what that all means is that the first school day is here.

Of course nothing quite signifies the start of the month like the traditional photo at the front door as anyone who’s logged onto their Facebook newsfeed on the big morning will tell you.

So we’re giving you the chance to turn that image into front page news to make a memory your family and friends will never forget.

Everybody knows this year’s going to be different – so do something special to mark your little ones’ new adventure with a keepsake that turns their first day at school into front page news.

You can put their name and photo on any of our national or regional titles from the Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News to OK! Magazine and the Mirror.

Once you know which publication you’d like, the rest is easy. All you need to do is fill in this form and we will take care of the rest.

To begin with, you will need at least one great picture of your big boy or girl. It may sound obvious, but make sure what you pick is good quality (the larger the better), and that your little star is centre frame.

Next is your chance to really settle into the editor’s seat, as you will need to carefully craft a headline so it fits within the front page text box. You’ve got space for 38 characters on your front page, but if you are struggling some good examples that fit include ‘ nursery here we come’ and ‘[NAME] is heading to big school!’

If you can’t think of the perfect line, no problem! Write a message and we’ll put one together for you.

You are nearly there then. We need to take a few final details from you and then you can pay through Paypal.

Our commitment to you and your special school starter is that we will send you a JPEG of your front page within 24 hours by email (although there is a slight delay over weekends).

With that, you can print out your cover and frame it, so that your child has a memento from their very first day of school.
