Tuchel's three Chelsea targets as Haaland alternative drops hint

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is set for a busy summer as he looks to build on his side’s Champions League triumph.

The Stamford Bridge side are expected to be serious contenders for the Premier League title next season after beating Manchester City in Porto to be crowned kings of Europe.

But Tuchel will need to strengthen his squad, with Chelsea set to spend big again following last summer’s £200m-plus splurge.

It’s no secret that a striker is a top priority, while the Blues are also expected to improve in other areas.

Here, Mirror Sport brings you the latest transfer news and rumours from around Stamford Bridge.

Haaland heads three-man shortlist

Thomas Tuchel wants three key signings this summer – with Chelsea refusing to give up on Erling Haaland despite Borussia Dortmund’s insistence they won’t sell.

A striker is Chelsea’s top priority, with Tuchel also keen on West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and a right-sided attacker, according to The Telegraph.

The publication claims Chelsea have been in talks with Haaland’s representatives, and will move for the Dortmund striker if he gives them an indication he would like to switch to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City are favourites to sign Harry Kane if he leaves Tottenham – and if Pep Guardiola’s side swoop for the England captain, it could leave the way clear for Chelsea to launch a £150m-plus bid for Haaland.

And Chelsea could also offer Tammy Abraham as a £40m makeweight in any potential deal.

Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka appears to have hinted he would be keen on a move to Chelsea.

Daka scored 27 goals to help fire Salzburg to the Austrian Bundesliga title this season -following in the footsteps of Haaland, whose form for Salzburg earned him a move to Borussia Dortmund last year.

Chelsea have been linked with interest in Daka as their search for a striker continues – and the 22-year-old seems to approve.

According to Football London, Daka retweeted a tweet which said Chelsea were poised to land him from under the noses of Premier League rivals Liverpool and West Ham.

The retweet was later reversed – but not before Chelsea fans had noticed.

“Chelsea are pushing for Daka, that’s amazing,” tweeted one fan, while another posted: “Welcome to Chelsea Patson Daka…”

Blues given price for Bundesliga winger

Chelsea have been told how much they would have to pay to land Borussia Monchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann.

The Blues have been linked with interest in the 28-year-old, who scored six goals and laid on 11 assists in the Bundesliga last season.

Gladbach are keen to keep Hoffman – but sporting director Max Eberl admitted they could be tempted to sell the Germany international for the right price.

“We live in a time when you can’t rule anything out,” he told Bild am Sonntag, cited by bulinews.com.

“We certainly don’t want to sell Jonas. But if at some point a club is offering 40 million euros (£34m) for Jonas, we can’t say we’re not interested.”
