True Life star Charlie Balducci passes away ‘unexpectedly’ at age 44 after rising to fame as groom on I’m Getting Married episode

True Life star Charlie Balducci has passed away at age 44.

The actor was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics found him unresponsive in his bed on Saturday, reports TMZ.

Charlie’s mother said the death was unexpected as her son was not showing any sickness.

She remembers the last words he spoke to her were about how happy he was to have his teenage sons.

Charlie’s cause of death is still pending, the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office told Page Six.

MTV fans may best remember Charlie from the 2002 True Life docuseries episode I’m Getting Married, which saw him go on an expletive-laden rampage at his limo driver, who was late picking him up for his wedding.  

Charlie called his limo driver, furious he had not yet arrived at his house.

‘Do you have any f**king clue who you’re talking to right now?’ Charlie asked the limo driver over the phone.

‘Besides the fact that it’s my f**king wedding, I’ll f**king cut you… I will gut you like the f**king piece of s**t that you are, do you understand? Don’t you f**king dare come after me like that on my f**king wedding, ’cause I’ll hunt you down like f**king cattle and I’ll gut you, do you understand?’

Charlie ended up being two hours late to his own wedding.

The star was married to Sabrina for over a decade and together they share two sons, ages 17 and 19, together.

Looking back at his blowup, Charlie said he was determined to arrive to the wedding on time after his priest advised him not to be late.

‘He pulls me to the side, he says, “No, but there’s something I don’t want you to do.” I go, “What’s that?” He goes, “Don’t be late,”‘ he told 20/20 in 2013. 

‘In defense of myself, I really did what any Staten Islander would have done in that situation,’ he added.  

In addition to his MTV fame, Charlie was an actor and founder of the nonprofit organization the NYC Arts Cypher, a youth-oriented program which promotes positive values through arts and entertainment programs.  

‘Charles Balducci is proud to be a Staten Islander,’ his bio on the NYC Arts Cypher website reads. ‘Born in NYC, but raised on the Island Charles Balducci has been a pioneer in the arts and entertainment movement to establish Staten Island as a player in the arts and entertainment industry.’
