Loose Women viewers have hit out at Trisha Goddard after she called Stacey Solomon ‘fast and loose’ during an episode of the show on Friday afternoon.

The television presenter, 61, was branded ‘car crash TV’ by fans who claimed she was digging herself a hole when she took aim at Stacey’s blended family.

During a discussion about Eddie Murphy posing with his 10 children, who he shares with five different mothers, Stacey said she has three children by three fathers.

Reading Trisha’s expression while explaining her family dynamic, Stacey exclaimed: ‘Alright Trish’, however the guest star quickly explained that she would never judge because she has been married three times.

However rather than leaving it there, she continued: ‘You know the implication is that you’re fast and loose.’

Attempting to diffuse the sitatuion, host Saira Khan stepped in and said: ‘Stacey have you had negative comments directed at you? 

Trisha added: ‘Yes you have, I’ve read them about you.’

While Stacey quipped back: ‘Trisha, what’s going on?’

She reiterated: ‘I think it’s really unfair but I have read that about you.’

However fans were shocked by the exchange and took to Twitter to express their horror at the awkward discussion, with one writing: ‘Trisha throwing some shade.’

While another said: ‘Trisha has not gone down well today #LooseWomen.’

Referencing the fact that Trisha was digging a deeper hole in the debate, another said: ‘LooseWomen give Trisha a shovel.’ 

Siding with Stacey, one social media user said: ‘Totally agree with @StaceySolomon I have 2 brothers and 1 sister all from my mum and we are just brothers and sister not half.’

However one commenter clearly thought the comments were in jest and said: 'Fast and loose... you gotta love Trisha #LooseWomen. [laughing face emoji]'

Prior to having baby Rex, Stacey confessed to feeling an ‘overwhelming sense of guilt’ about expanding her family unit, confessing that she has read several studies about the social and emotional impact of broken homes on young children.

The TV star spoke candidly to the Huffington Post in a video blog in February 2017, debating the question of when the right time is to have a child in a new relationship when you already have kids with previous partners. 

Stacey shares eldest son Zachary with her teenage sweetheart Dean Cox, and Leighton with ex-fiancée Aaron Barnham.

Meanwhile, her boyfriend Joe Swash has son Harry, nine, with his former fiancée Emma Sophocleous.

The Loose Women panellist explained: ‘I always have an overwhelming sense of guilt that if I were to make my family greater, that I would impact on them socially and emotionally.

‘There’s definitely been times in my life where I’ve felt the stigma of having multiple children from different partners.’

Stacey and Joe have been together since November 2015 and their romance is going from strength-strength.
