Trisha Goddard, 61, has returned to the UK to begin the gruelling training required to compete on ITV’s hit series Dancing on Ice 2020.
The chat show host, who has been living in Connecticut, USA, since 2010, revealed on her Instagram account that she has been physically paying the price after an accommodation mix up.
Teary and blurry eyed, the small screen favourite said that her initial accommodation was unavailable.
She explained how she was forced to rent a room with an uncomfortable bed that was causing her extreme back pain.
She captioned her video with: “Apologies!!! This post should be about being excited to meet my @dancingonice #iceskating pro later today, but….. Ugh! My back! Agony!
“Not much sleep for 2nd night after my flight from #nyc Result? I’m feeling really low to think of the dramas I’ve been through to finally find (*last-minute!) accommodation and end up with a bed with a mattress-from-hell for the next freakin’ six weeks training here in the UK!
“Watch out! You can book and pay for accommodation on a website, only to discover that the place advertised as being available for the dates you need, actually isn’t!”
Trisha continued: “Cue nightmare scenarios of wrangling refunds, and trying to find somewhere else, without repeating the cycle..” [SIC]
“Isn’t it weird how something like a really bad bed can just change your mood?
“So sorry producers if you wanted a happy ‘yay I’m meeting my professional’, I can hardly stand up or walk for the backache so… ugh! Really ugh! Really ugh!”
The television personality went on to reassure her 7,000 plus Instagram followers that her landlord was working on getting her a better mattress.
She said: “It’s ok. The owner has got in contact and is onto it. Thanks!”
Going on to share selfies with her rival DOI contestants, including Maura Higgins and Perri Kiely, she also posted a further snap that made light of her early claims.
Screenshotting an article written about her accommodation, she hit back at the idea that she was “homeless”.
And in yet another post she reported her “lifted mood” thanks to taking painkillers, going on a jog and listening to some music.
Trisha became a household name when she hosted daytime chat show Trisha, later called Trisha Goddard.
Running from 1998-2009, she moved to America in 2010 to be a conflict resolution expert on tabloid talk show Maury.
She even launched her own version of Trisha, The Trisha Goddard Show in the US in 2012 but it was cancelled by 2014.
Dancing on Ice is expected to air in early 2020 on ITV.
