Trent Alexander-Arnold could leave Liverpool next summer, according to Brazil’s two-time World Cup winner Cafu.

The 21-year-old has already established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League following his excellent performances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And Cafu, who was capped 142 times by Brazil and won Serie A titles with Roma and AC Milan, believes Europe’s elite clubs will target a move for the Liverpool defender at the end of the season.

‘Trent has been one of the better players in the league and he is one of the main reasons why Liverpool are where they are,’ Cafu told The Sun.

‘At the end of the season we could see a big trade with him, as he is not only a great defender but he can also help and move forward and sideways with and without the ball.

‘For that reason he has been great in scoring goals and is what I would call a ‘quarterback scorer’.

‘To any young player, the key word is always commitment.

‘Young players need to have a strong commitment to the position they take on.

‘This is my No 1 piece of advice. It’s what I teach to others.’
