Three fans were left injured after being trampled on as crowds stormed the opening of Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival.

The music event was held in Houston, Texas, on Saturday and things got a little chaotic as fans decided to stampede the entrance on its opening.

According to Just Jared, the huge crowds knocked down barricades as they eagerly tried to get inside the festival, that took place at NRG Park, and three fans were left needing treatment for leg injuries and transported to hospital.

TMZ reports that promoters ‘hadn’t planned’ for such huge crowds, but the Houston Police Department insisted they had everything under control in a tweet.

Officials tweeted: ‘We are successfully working together to support Houston’s biggest music festival @astroworldfest at @nrgpark and collaborating closely with the festival to ensure the public safety of everyone attending the event. We look forward to a memorable night. #hounews.’

Travis himself commented on the chaos and urged fans to be safe.

He shared footage of the crowds jumping over barriers and wrote alongside it: ‘DA YOUTH DEM CONTROL THE FREQUENCY. EVERYONE HAVE FUN.

‘RAGERS SET TONE WHEN I COME OUT TONIGHT. BE SAFE RAGE HARD. AHHHHHHHHHHH.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Travis’ rep.

Performing at the festival had been Travis (of course), along with Pharrell Williams, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby and Marilyn Manson.

Scott’s appearance at Astroworld Fest comes after rumours his ex Kylie Jenner has been spending time with fellow rapper Drake, following their split.

Travis and Kylie, who share one-year-old daughter Stormi, recently called it quits on their three year romance.

Reports suggest Kylie has been getting closer to Drake recently, after being spotted at Drake’s birthday party.

The pair have claimed they’re just close friends despite rumours of them hooking up, while Travis has said he’d feel ‘betrayed’ if Kylie and Drake did get together.

A source told Hollywood Life: ‘He would feel a bit betrayed if Drake started anything with Kylie that was anything romantic.

‘Travis considers Drake a good friend. He trusts that it was just a fun night out and nothing more happened and people are just overshooting their expectations on this potential relationship.’
