All international arrivals landing in the UK will be required to show evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken before their departure in a bid to stop the spread of the Omicron variant. The UK Government has also reinstated its travel red list.
What are the current red list rules?
Under red list rules, travellers arriving from “high risk” countries face quarantine and a series of COVID-19 testing protocols.
Only British or Irish nationals, or legal residents of the UK, are permitted to enter the country from a red list nation.
This rule also applies to anyone who has been in a red list country in the previous 10 days.
The Government is warning people “not to travel to countries or territories on the red list”.
The rate for an additional adult, or child over the age of 11, is £1,430.
The price for an additional child aged between five and 11 is £325. Children under five are free.
Children aged 11 to 17 must take a COVID-19 test in the three days before traveling to England.
On arrival in England, children aged between five and 17 must take two COVID-19 tests as part of their managed quarantine.
Children under five will not be required to take Covid tests during their stay.
The Government claims it is keeping room rates “under review”.
Anyone who is found to break the quarantine rules “may face a penalty of up to £10,000”.
All arrivals into the UK must also complete a passenger locator form.
