Travel corridors: Israel and Sri Lanka among eight new destinations now quarantine-free

Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps announced eight new additions to England’s travel corridor list. What’s more, the Government has decided not to remove any existing travel corridors this week.

This means, as of 4am on Saturday 21 November, arrivals from the nine new additions will no longer face the mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

Mr Shapps made the announcement via Twitter.

He wrote: “Travel corridor update: ISRAEL, NAMIBIA, RWANDA, SRI LANKA, URUGUAY, BONAIRE, ST EUSTATIUS & SABA, THE NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS and THE US VIRGIN ISLANDS have been ADDED to the #TravelCorrdor list.

“If you arrive from these countries after 4am on Saturday 21st Nov you will NOT need to self-isolate.

Last week, eight new destinations were added to the quarantine-free list.

These include Bahrain, Chile, Iceland, Cambodia, Laos, The United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Turks and Caicos Islands.

However, holidaymakers wanting to visit must be aware each nation has its own regulations for arrivals, with UK arrivals banned in many cases.

Greece was removed from the travel corridor list, while a ban on arriving in the UK from Denmark was further extended.
