Transfer news round-up: Chelsea exit, Tottenham battle, Everton and Aston Villa raids

The January transfer window is now open with Premier League clubs looking to strengthen before the January 31 deadline. Express Sport’s Neil Fissler has all the latest from the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, Everton and Aston Villa.

Chelsea are ready to allow outcast Victor Moses to reunite with former boss Antonio Conte at Inter Milan for the rest of the season.

Moses has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place on loan at Turkish outfit Fenerbahce and has only made six appearances.

Conte wants him to join Olivier Giroud and Christian Eriksen during this transfer window and are willing to discuss a loan after initially demanding £8.5m.

Inter are close to agreeing to a fee for French international Giroud and are confident that they can do a deal for Danish international Eriksen.

Lyon are ready to provide competition for Jose Mourinho’s bid to land AC Milan’s £30 million rated striker Krzysztof Piatek.

Tottenham need to bolster striking options after losing Harry Kane for the rest of the season, but Lyon are now keen after Sevilla and Aston Villa lost interest.

Everton are lining up a raid for Inter Milan outcast Matias Vecino who is training alone as he looks to secure a move to the Premier League.

The Uruguayan midfielder, 28, has spent the last seven years playing in Italy but is eyeing his exit before the end of the month.

Aston Villa are closing in on Genk’s £8.5m rated Tanzanian striker Mbwana Samatta, but they need to apply for a special dispensation work permit.

Crystal Palace have won the race to sign Dundee United midfielder Scott Banks who will have a medical in London this weekend.
