Jose Mourinho barrier

Jose Mourinho’s reported return to Real Madrid has hit the buffers.

Reports have claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is lining up the Special One to replace Zinedine Zidane.

But there’s a problem.

Spanish publication AS claim a portion of the Bernabeu dressing room are against the idea of Mourinho returning to the dugout.

Mario Mandzukic deal

Manchester United should wrap up a deal for Mario Mandzukic.

That’s according to Italian publication Calciomercato, who claim that ‘all indications’ point towards the Croatia international arriving at Old Trafford in January.

ESPN recently claimed that United had ‘cooled’ their interest in the veteran striker, but Calciomercato think the deal is alive with Juventus demanding £9million for the 33-year-old.

The report suggests Juventus are aiming to raise funds and reduce their wage bill to the combined tune of £215million.

Zinedine Zidane sack latest

Zinedine Zidane will be sacked if Real Madrid lose tonight, reports claim

The Spanish heavyweights have just a single point from their opening two Champions League fixtures and tonight’s trip to Galatasaray is viewed as a must-win.

Real Madrid suffered their first domestic defeat of the campaign to Mallorca on Saturday and Spanish newspaper Marca claim Zidane is on the verge of being given his marching orders.

A defeat in Turkey would leave Zidane’s side on the brink of an embarrassing UCL exit and that would be enough for president Florentino Perez to swing the axe.

Wanted: Aaron Hickey

Liverpool and Arsenal have joined the race to sign Hearts teenager Aaron Hickey.

That’s according to the Scottish Sun, who claim the Premier League heavyweights are monitoring the highly-rated 17-year-old.

Norwich, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have all been linked with the full-back and are reported to have sent scouts to watch him in action.

Hickey has featured in all but one of Hearts’ Premiership fixtures this season and scored the winner against Hibernian in September.

Alfredo Morelos transfer

Crystal Palace are lining up a £20million January move for fiery Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson has been searching since the summer for reinforcements for his forward line, with efforts to bring in Belgian star Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea proving unsuccessful.

The Selhurst Park club though have now turned their attention to Colombian Morelos.

Morelos, 23, has scored 62 goals in 110 games for Rangers, and is a key player in manager Steven Gerrard’s title chasing team.
