Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd to trigger forward’s release fee, Spurs in double swoop, Arsenal’s defender bid

Follow the latest transfer news live with all the done deals, reports and gossip from the summer transfer window as the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool prepare for a busy few months.

United are set to be busy this summer and appear to be closing in on their second signing of the off-season. Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears close to a move after a breakthrough was finally reached between the two clubs that will see the England Under-21 international move to Old Trafford for upwards of £42m plus add ons. Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes could well be close behind with the Red Devils now the favourites to sign him too.

It won’t just be incomings, however, with Paul Pogba anxious to leave with Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain circling. Romelu Lukaku is all set to leave for Italy too while the club are desperate to get Alexis Sanchez’s £500,000 per week off the books. Follow the latest live news below.

Arsenal have returned to Celtic with an improved bid for Kieran Tierney, but the Scottish Premiership champions are yet to budge from their £25m valuation.

Conflicting reports have emerged over Arsenal’s interest in Tierney, with The Telegraph claiming that Arsenal have upped their initial £15m offer to £18m while the Daily Mail believes it is an additional £1m on top of that.

But Celtic are not willing to let a player who has four years left to run on his contract leave on the cheap, and it seems like Arsenal will need to go back to the bank if they’re to land the Scotland left-back.

Manchester United’s have renewed their pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

The Premier League side ended their interest earlier in the summer after being put off by the £100m price tag that Borussia Dortmind slapped on the England forward.

But The Sun reports that Sancho is firmly back on the radar if United sell Paul Pogba this summer, with the 19-year-old fitting into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans to rejuvenate his squad.

United may still try to negotiate a lower fee, but with Sancho under a long-term contract in Germany, Dortmund appear to hold the chips in this one.

Everton have completed what looks to be a great slice of business by making Andre Gomes’ loan move permanent for just £22m – €10m less than Barcelona paid for him three years ago.

The midfielder impressed while on loan at Goodison Park last summer, leading to the club making him a priority target heading into the transfer window, and the 25-year-old has agreed to remain in the Premier League by signing a five-year deal.

United’s move for Ben Yedder would make perfect sense if Romelu Lukaku goes on to leave the club this summer, and his agent has helped fuel the flames by revealing talks with Inter Milan are ongoing.

The striker has spent two years at Old Trafford but despite being a key part of the side under Jose Mourinho, he has fallen out of favour slightly with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

That has led to suggestions that he could leave this summer for a fee around the £75m that United paid for him, and this latest revelation will only increase the possibility of Lukaku leaving the Premier League over the coming weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make their first move of the summer despite letting the last two transfer windows pass them by without any business whatsoever, but that looks like it’s about to change.

The club are being strongly linked with Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, and The Sun reports that Spurs are on the verge of completing a club-record £60m move for the France midfielder.

Ndombele played 34 times for Lyon last season, helping them to qualify for the Champions League in the process, and he would help to plug the gap left by Moussa Dembele’s mid-season exit as well as inject some fresh blood into Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

To the other side of Manchester where the news is not so exciting – at least for City fans.

David Silva has announced that this season will be his last for the club before he leaves, with the 33-year-old not yet revealing if he will head into retirement or seek a new club abroad as he does not want to ever play against Manchester City.

It will complete 10 years at the Etihad Stadium, and the Spaniard will go down as one of the club’s all-time greats when he departs this time next year.

We begin this morning with news emerging in Spain that Manchester United have a new target on the radar, and one who would be a simple transfer option compared to the majority of their attempted acquisitions.

Spanish regional ABC Sevilla reports that United are ready to trigger Wissam Ben Yedder’s release clause, with the France international available for £35.8m this summer.

The 28-year-old has impressed with Sevilla since joining from Toulouse in 2016, and after three years in La Liga, it’s claimed that he is open to a move to the Premier League where the prestige of playing for Manchester United would tempt him into joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Ben Yedder would offer a very different playing style to Romelu Lukaku that would fit in with a number of United’s other attacking players, while he would also help to appease Paul Pogba given their relationship in the international team.

There’s no doubting that the transfer market is hotting up, with Manchester United ready to pounce on more than one target and both Arsenal and Liverpool nearing moves as they look to strengthen. Manchester City could be on the verge of signing England defender Harry Maguire for £80m that would smash the world record transfer fee for a defender, while Neymar continues to look for a way out of PSG.

Without further ado, let’s get underway.

Meanhile, Arsenal are set to push on with their first signing of the summer with a deal for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney close. Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and Belgian international Yannick Carrasco are also options being considered but money could be tight for Unai Emery and Co.

Champions Manchester City don’t have any such problems and look set to strengthen an already stacked squad. Leicester City’s Harry Maguire could arrive in a club record deal while Atletico Madrid’s Rodri and Juve’s Joao Cancelo appear near certainties to join him in what looks to be another busy summer at the Etihad.
