Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd swap deal, Dybala to Tottenham update, Messi on Neymar move

Jose Mourinho on Alexis Sanchez at Man Utd

Jose Mourinho says Alexis Sanchez was a sad man during their time together at Manchester United.

“Sanchez… I felt him [to be] not a happy man,” Mourinho told the Telegraph.

“And I think in every job you have when you are not happy it is not so easy to perform at every level.

“And maybe I am wrong. Maybe it was me who was not capable to get into him and to get the best out of him.

“As a manager sometimes you have the capacity to get the best out of the players and other times you are not successful in that approach.

“But the reality is that I always felt [of Sanchez], ‘a sad man’. So probably in Italy he will recover this.

“I hope he can. I always wish well to every player.”

Man Utd swap deal

Man Utd could agree a player-plus-cash deal involving Paul Pobga and Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos in January, Spanish transfer expert Eduardo Inda claims.

“Zidane has an obsession, which is still Pogba. The French coach is a person of fixed ideas and insists on Paul,” Inda said.

“They will try in January and there have already been the first contacts with United.

“In the conversations that still exist between Madrid and United, a name has been put: Toni Kroos.

“United tried to sign Toni Kroos this summer and it is the one that would put Manchester as a condition.

“For him they offered this summer 75 million and that caused its renewal with the white team.”

Messi on Neymar’s failed Barcelona return

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has admitted he wanted the club to re-sign Neymar from PSG during the transfer window.

“I wish he had come for what it would imply, not only at the sports level, but also at the club level for what it means at the club, sponsor, image, growth level,” he said.

“The club would have taken a leap too. But hey, it didn’t happen.”

The duo spent four years together between 2013 and 2017 before the Brazil international jumped ship to the Parc des Princes in a world-record £200million deal.

Paulo Dybala to Tottenham back on

Tottenham could move for Paulo Dybala in January and are open to swapping Christian Eriksen.

Spurs were heavily linked with Dybala in the summer but failed to agree a deal with Juve and so the forward stayed in Turin.

According to Tuttosport, Mauricio Pochettino may attempt to approach the Argentina international one more time in January.

It was also claimed that the north London club could be open to the prospect of swapping star midfielder Eriksen to Juventus in exchange for the Argentine.
