11.45 UPDATE: Man Utd transfer regret

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward regrets luring Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford and beating Manchester City to his signature, reports claim.

Sanchez joined United from Arsenal last January in a swap deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction.

The Chilean has, however, failed to replicate the form which made him one of the most in-demand forwards plying their trade in Europe.

The Times reckon United executive vice-chairman Woodward is ruing the decision to sanction the deal for Sanchez to join then-manager Jose Mourinho’s squad.

11.20 UPDATE: Shock Cristiano Ronaldo verdict

Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus has had a NEGATIVE impact on his Allianz Stadium team-mates, according to Marco Tardelli.

“Juventus need to work in the management of the squad,” Tardelli told Italian broadcaster Rai Sport.

“Cristiano Ronaldo may have played too much this year, but he is the one who imposes [the team’s attitude].

“Against Ajax [in the Champions League] he could have done even more. I think some players give less with Ronaldo; they suffer with him unconsciously. [Paulo] Dybala is one of them.”

10.40 UPDATE: Arsenal transfer theory

Arsenal fans are going wild on Twitter after a fellow supporter dropped a theory about how Arsene Wenger could have orchestrated four transfer to hurt Manchester United this season.

The tweet was posed in the wake of United’s 4-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday, in which former Arsenal forward Walcott scored the fourth goal.

“Swapping Alexis for Mkhitaryan so that the Armenian could attract Aubameyang to the club, allowing us to sell Walcott to Everton to hinder United’s aim of top four the following season?” read Patrick Timmons’ tweet.

“Arsène Wenger, he’s done it again.”

10.05 UPDATE: Public Man Utd transfer chat

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and assistant manager Mike Phelan were discussing transfers DURING the Everton game, pundit Paul Mariner believes.

“All the Man United fans are saying on Twitter and all over the shop are saying, ‘What’s going on here? It’s back to [David] Moyes’ days, back to [Jose] Mourinho days’,” Mariner said.

“Look it’s not as bad as that. But when I saw Micky Phelan and Ole on the sidelines having a quiet little chat with each other, they were sorting out who’s staying and who’s going.

“100 per cent. They weren’t doing anything tactical, changing anything. They were looking at those players and saying, ‘Here’s what we’ve got to do.’ That’s the next big step.”

09.40 UPDATE: Everton handed transfer advice

Former Everton boss Sam Allardyce seems to think Marco Silva needs to splash the cash on a new forward to lead the line at Goodison Park.

“If you want to finish in the top six, which is what Everton fans are demanding, they need to find a striker that will get 15-20 goals a season,” Allardyce told talkSPORT.

“That’s not only a hard job but one of the most expensive jobs in the game.”

Everton have predominantly utilised Dominic Calvert-Lewin up from this season, with Cenk Tosun failing to meet the expectations place on him.

09.10 UPDATE: Man City start talks

Manchester City and Inter Milan have opened talks over a potential deal for 2017/18 Premier League-winning defender Danilo.

Danilo is looking to leave the Etihad in the summer and Inter have spoken to City about his availability.

The Italian giants, though, are unlikely to be willing to pay the £26m City are demanding for Danilo.

While another potential sticking point is that Inter are struggling to meet his personal demands and are hoping that City supplement the rest.

08.35 UPDATE: Tottenham blow

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to make a surprise £65m bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who is desperate to leave the Eagles this summer.

Zaha has told Palace chiefs he wants to quit Selhurst Park for a second time because he is eager to play in the Champions League and they are ready to cash in on him.

Tottenham are long-term suitors of the Ivory Coast international, who earned a pair of friendly caps for England, but cannot compete with PSG.

He is the highest paid player at Palace earning around £130,000 a week and PSG are ready to offer him a healthy pay rise to ensure that he moves to the French capital.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward has been in fine form in the Bundesliga and Europa League and will line up against the Blues in that competition next month.

Maurizio Sarri had earmarked the former Benfica ace for a summer move to Stamford Bridge to spearhead a new-look attack.

However, transfer guru Alfredo Pedulla has revealed Jovic has his heart set on joining Real Madrid, with interest from Chelsea and Barcelona knocked back.

07.35 UPDATE: Rangers deal ON

Rangers have beaten off competition from England to snare Motherwell hot prospect Jake Hastie, with the 20-year-old set to join the Gers this week.

Express Sport revealed last week that Rangers had made a fresh move for the attacking midfielder and we now understand he has agreed terms and conditions on a three-year deal with an optional fourth.

All that remains is for Hastie to sign on the dotted line at Ibrox, where Hastie has been eager to move for some time.

Despite Motherwell offering the player a new deal, manager Stephen Robinson admitted defeat in his attempts to make Hastie commit his future to the Fir Parkers.

07.05 UPDATE: £25m Liverpool vs Arsenal battle

Liverpool and Arsenal could be set for an almighty summer scrap over Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech, according to reports.

Ziyech has shone for Erik ten Hag’s trailblazing Ajax side in the Champions League this season, playing a key role in their run to the semi-finals.

The Sun claim his form has attracted interest from Liverpool, who could be looking to add to a Premier League-winning squad during the offseason.

Ziyech is valued at around £25m, with Arsenal among the list of suitors which also includes Manchester United and Manchester City.

06.35 UPDATE: Man Utd SHOCK price

Manchester United will have to pay more than they might have expected for Kieran Trippier despite Tottenham being ready to sell the right-back.

Express Sport understands Tottenham have slapped a considerable £40m valuation on the England international, who has struggled to hit the heights of last season this time around.

United have their eye on Trippier as they work out how best to overhaul the squad Ole Gunnar Solskjaer inherited from Jose Mourinho in December.

But it remains to be seen whether they will be prepared to stump up what Spurs are asking for, particularly with Daniel Levy not fighting a deal.
