Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd identify top target, Rangers plan, Bale to Liverpool backed

08:40 UPDATE: De Gea to Real Madrid EXCLUSIVE

Real Madrid are weighing up joining Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land David de Gea if he continues to stall signing a new contract with Manchester United.

De Gea has one more season left to run on his £240,000 a week deal and new United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for him to pen a new agreement.

But they are unable to agree terms with De Gea who wants parity with United’s highest earner Alexis Sanchez who picks up around £500,000 a week.

PSG are willing to meet his demands to replace veteran Italian Gianluigi Buffon while United have currently put around £350,000 a week on the table.

Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on talks after being far from impressed with Thibaut Courtois since his £35 million move for Chelsea last summer.

08:20 UPDATE: Man Utd draw up shortlist

Man Utd have drawn up a seven-man transfer shortlist ahead of the summer window.

And according to the Evening Standard, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho tops their wishlist

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Declan Rice, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Bruno Fernandes, Raphael Varane and Kalidou Koulibally are also targets for Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer is keen to spend big to challenge for the Premier League next season.

07:55 UPDATE: Bale to Liverpool backed

Liverpool should do everything to land Real Madrid star Gareth Bale this summer, according to former Red Dominic Matteo.

“We certainly wouldn’t say no,” he said. “Possibly. It’s a case of whether the financials could be done.

“It would be a big signing. If he was coming back to England, I’m sure that everyone would take him.

“With Bale, when Madrid beat Liverpool in the final, he had that bit of X factor.

“Liverpool could maybe do with one more X factor player to score in the finals.

“That’s what we’ve lacked that bit of X factor to get us over the line.”

07:35 UPDATE: Hazard to join Real Madrid on one condition

Eden Hazard will join Real Madrid once Zinedine Zidane has given the move the green light.

Spanish newspaper Marca say the Chelsea star is set to quit Stamford Bridge this summer.

Hazard has publicly revealed his admiration for Real Madrid – as well as his desire to play under Zidane.

Real are expected to have a £300m budget this summer to challenge Barcelona in La Liga next season.

07:15 UPDATE: Rangers plan

Rangers are plotting a move for Aberdeen striker Greg Stewart.

The Daily Record say Steven Gerrard is a big admirer of Stewart, who is currently on loan from Birmingham.

Rangers are planning to sign the 29-year-old on a free transfer when his contract runs out.

Gerrard is keen to spend this summer to challenge Celtic for the title next season.
