Saul Niguez valuation

Manchester United will have to shatter their transfer record to sign Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez.

That’s according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who claims Atletico value Saul at a staggering £128million.

The Red Devils have been linked with the 25-year-old Spanish international, whose contract expires in June 2026.

The publication continue to claim that Ed Woodward and Co. are unlikely to sanction the deal unless Paul Pogba leaves the club for a bumper fee.

Takumi Minamino medical

Japan star Takumi Minamino will join Liverpool in January after the club agreed a £7.25million deal, subject to medical.

The Mirror claim the Reds beat Manchester United to his signature because they were aware of a clause in his contract – allowing him to leave for such a paltry figure – which their bitter Old Trafford rivals were oblivious to.

His club Salzburg extended the player’s deal to 2021 last February, but crucially conceded a get-out option which allows him to leave for a big European club at a price well below his market value of £25-30m.

He will undergo a medical in the coming weeks, and will also discuss personal terms. But it is understood the highly-rated attacking player is honoured that the current European champions want him, and is ready to sign.

Leicester transfer warning

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out any departures during the January transfer window as he looks to keep pace at the top of the Premier League.

The likes of England duo Ben Chilwell and James Maddison along with midfielder Wilfried Ndidi have all been touted as potential targets for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

“There will be nobody leaving in January, categorically,” Rodgers said. “It is really clear, we want to keep this squad together.

“It is an exciting team with growth and development in it, so we want to ensure they stay around beyond January.”
