10:30 UPDATE: Paul Pogba wage cut

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is prepared to take a significant pay cut to join Real Madrid, Marca claim.

Zinedine Zidane has identified Paul Pogba as his top priority after the arrivals of Eden Hazard from Chelsea and striker Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, Marca claim they’ll need to fork out £135million for the French international.

The massive transfer fee combined with Real’s Financial Fair Play restrictions could scupper any potential deal – but Pogba is reportedly doing all he can to seal the move.

10:15 UPDATE: Harry Maguire chase

Manchester United will have to break the world-record transfer fee paid for a defender – the £75million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk – if they are to sign Leicester star Harry Maguire.

Both Manchester clubs want to complete a deal this transfer window, with Pep Guardiola’s side now without long-serving captain Vincent Kompany.

Leicester, who signed Maguire from Hull for £17m in June 2017, do not want to sell their ball-playing defender.

A source told Sky Sports News that the Foxes believe the 26-year-old is worth in the region of £80million.

Liverpool have decided against signing striker Max Kruse from Werder Bremen.

The Liverpool Echo claim that although Kruse would be available on a free transfer, the Reds manager has no interest in the 31-year-old.

09:30 UPDATE: Matthijs De Ligt hint

Ajax superstar Matthijs De Ligt has hinted that Barcelona will be his next destination.

Manchester United, PSG and Barcelona have all been linked with the 19-year-old centre-back.

However, the Independent claim De Ligt is leaning towards the Catalan giants because his priority is game time over money.

“I still do not know what my heart says. In my holidays I will be able to think about it and decide what I am going to do with my future,” De Ligt said.

“The most important thing is to know that in the team where I go I can have a leading role and play many games.

“I do not know when I’m going to have it resolved, but I’m going to take my time. Money is not the problem. Of course it would be nice to play De Jong at Barça, but I must also look at what is best for me.”

“He has an idea of how he wants to play and the football that he really wants to play.

“He doesn’t move from it. No matter what you tell him, no matter what you advise him, no matter what your opinion is, he will never change.

“But he did it the way he likes it. He has his own vision of football and, in the end, he is where he is with it and you have to respect that.”

Cairo said to Sky Italia: “We exercised our option to buy Ola Aina, as well as [Christian] Ansaldi and [Koffi] Djidji. Now Torino own all their players.”

Reacting to Cairo’s comments, Goal’s Chelsea reporter Nizaar Kinsella said on Twitter: “Torino president Urbano Cairo has confirmed that Ola Aina has left Chelsea after his £8.9m (€10m) option was exercised. And it appears Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have taken the lead over other interested suitors including Tottenham, Liverpool and Inter Milan as they look to build on their acquisition of Daniel James from Swansea.

“An agreement with the club has been reached,” Balzano Prota wrote on Twitter. “They are supposedly working on the last details, one aspect being the commissions.

“Various clubs seem interested in the player, but for now Man Utd is very close to signing him.”

Jurgen Klopp should make a move to sign Manchester United transfer target Bruno Fernandes, says Steve Nicol.

Fernandes’ talents are in demand after the Sporting CP captain mustered an incredible 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 matches across all competitions for the Portuguese outfit from an attacking midfield role.

And Nicol wants to see Liverpool make a move for the Portugal international, who could cost around £70million.

“I think this would be a decent signing for Liverpool. He would play in the middle of the park,” the former Reds right-back told ESPN FC. “I think Bruno Fernandes would be a good addition.

“Liverpool need to get a bigger squad and a bigger squad so that they can give people a break without the standard dropping.”

07:45 UPDATE: Chelsea bid incoming

Chelsea have made a £62million offer for Valencia star Goncalo Guedes, it has been claimed.

The 22-year-old impressed this season for Valencia, netting eight goals and providing four assists in all competitions.

And after consulting with agent Jorge Mendes, Chelsea believe Guedes would be the best replacement for Hazard.

Manchester United aren’t prepared to listen to offers for midfielder Paul Pogba, reports claim.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid aren’t hopeful of their chances of luring the French international to the Bernabeu this summer.

Previously it was reported that £143million would tempt the Red Devils to part with Pogba – but AS claim United haven’t set a fee and want to build their side around the 26-year-old.

Real Madrid are therefore relying on Pogba to make a public demand to leave the club.
