Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to reveal whether Manchester United will move for Gareth Bale.
“I can’t really comment on Gareth Bale or specific names because they’re property of other clubs,” he said.
“But we should look for quality players, definitely, and players who could improve us as a team.”
Bale could leave Real Madrid this summer following the return of Zinedine Zidane.
12:30 UPDATE: Coutinho hint
Philippe Coutinho has dropped a hint that he could leave Barcelona in the summer.
He said: ”In the last few weeks, months even, I’ve not been playing well. But I still want to improve.
“I came to Barcelona to give my best. I live for the moment.
“You never know what the future holds. I am happy with my performance [against Lyon].”
12:00 UPDATE: Sterling to Real Madrid on
Real Madrid have turned their attention to Raheem Sterling as they prepare for a massive summer spending spree.
Manchester City star Sterling only signed a new contract at the Etihad in November.
But reports claim Real Madrid fancy their chances of snapping up the England star.
According to the Mirror, Real have set their eyes on Sterling as part of a projected £300million splurge this summer.
11:40 UPDATE: Gareth Bale to Chelsea backed
Gareth Bale could join Chelsea, with Eden Hazard heading to Real Madrid in a swap deal, Guillem Balague claims.
“So, to get the best out of Bale, Zidane is going to have to put an arm around his shoulder. But the first option will be to try and sell him,” said Balague.
“But it won’t be easy because he earns about 12million euros net and Real Madrid will probably want around 75million euros to sell.
“He’s going to be 30 in July, so Manchester United may think twice about putting that kind of money in the direction of Real Madrid and Bale.
“If Chelsea had the possibility of signing Bale it would be a swap with [Eden] Hazard and I expect all that to appear in the equation. But I feel Bale doesn’t want to leave. Bale would like to stay at Real Madrid.”
11:10 UPDATE: Antonio Valencia to join Arsenal?
Antonio Valencia will leave Manchester United this summer – and Arsenal are an option for the defender, his father claims.
His father Luis told El Universal: “He definitely will not continue in Manchester.
“He wants a change in the air and the club is not going to renew [his contract] either. Like everything in life, everything comes to an end.
“Arsenal, West Ham, Inter Milan and one club from China are options, but in football everything is changing.
“He wants to choose the best option, but above all he wants to sign a contract for two years.
“Not for the money but for peace and hopefully, he told me, be hired by a team that fights for important things.”
10:40 UPDATE: Klopp on Liverpool spending
Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool do not need to spend big this summer.
“I don’t want to talk exactly what we will do, but I don’t think this is a team at the moment where we have to spend the big money or whatever,” he said.
“The best way to do it is bring together a group of players, try to develop them altogether and then stay together for a while.
“That was maybe the main problem of Liverpool for the last decade. When they had a good team after a season they went all over the world. That will not happen this year for sure.”
