19:30 UPDATE: Arsenal optimism

Arsenal are set for a busy final fortnight of the transfer window, say reports.

The Gunners announced the signings of Dani Ceballos and William Saliba yesterday.

And according to The Independent, Unai Emery is quietly optimistic that three more signings will follow in time for the new Premier League campaign.

One of those is Wilfried Zaha, who Arsenal have already had a number of bids rejected for by Crystal Palace.

Kieran Tierney is another deal Emirates Stadium chiefs believe they can get over the line.

19:15 UPDATE: Rugani’s agent speaks out

Daniele Rugani’s agent refused to rule out a summer exit for his client amid reports he could leave Juventus for Arsenal before the closure of the transfer window on August 8.

Gunners manager Unai Emery is said to have added the Italian centre-back, 24, to his list of targets as he looks to bolster a backline that struggled badly at times last season.

And his agent, Davide Torchia gave a cryptic response when asked about the growing interest in his player.

“In football, everyone does their part,” he said. “If there is a company that really wants a player, he picks up the phone, takes a plane and goes to the other club’s office.

“Then later, the footballer and his agent come on the scene.”

West Ham’s hopes of signing New York Red Bulls centre-back Aaron Long have been hit by problems.

Sky Sports News claim that the Hammers are having difficult completing a deal because he cannot get a work permit at the moment.

The 26-year-old has a £4m release clause in his MLS contract.

Sky Sports claim Long wants to move to the Premier League but West Ham face competition for his signature from across Europe in Marseille, Fiorentina, Rennes and Lyon.

18:25 UPDATE: Klopp keen to keep Wilson

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has promised Harry Wilson game-time if he stays at the club, according to reports.

Liverpool have opened talks with Newcastle United and Aston Villa over the 22-year-old winger, say Sky Sports News.

And according to the Mirror, the German coach has told Wilson he will get an opportunity if he stays with the Merseyside outfit after one-to-one discussions.

Liverpool’s stance is that they will not loan Wilson out again, with the Welshman having been at Hull City and Derby County in the last two years.

Klopp is said to have told Wilson that he plans to ease the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mane and Salah back into the side at the early part of the season following their international involvements over the summer.

And that will allow the former under-23s captain plenty of chances to prove he warrants consistent minutes in Liverpool’s senior squad.

The report adds, however, that Klopp knows Wilson wants to take the next step and that a move to a Premier League club could prove attractive, particularly if he is promised an important role.

17:55 UPDATE: Tierney to Arsenal latest

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed Arsenal have not made any more bids for Kieran Tierney despite the Gunners securing two transfers on Thursday

Arsenal boss Unai Emery signed Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. William Saliba has also joined Arsenal in a £27million permanent deal but returns to Saint-Etienne on loan.

Lennon, meanwhile, has revealed there has been no further offers from the north London club for left-back Tierney over the past week.

He said: “There is a lot of speculation – that is going to rumble on – and I am sort of at ad nauseam of answering the same questions over and over at every press conference,” Lennon said.

“It is as you were a week ago. Two bids have been in and two bids have been rejected. That is where we are.

“If there is interest in him then other clubs may come in or Arsenal may come again. I can’t predict that.

“At the minute he is working away in the background and it is difficult for him to keep focused at times because he is only human. But we are supporting him all we can.

“You always have a contingency plan for cases and work out other options if that worst-case scenario were to happen. Yes, having that extra two or three weeks later on in the window might be beneficial.”

17:40 UPDATE: Dean Henderson done deal

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has rejoined Sheffield United on loan for this season.

The goalkeeper has also signed a new contract with Man Utd, which runs until 2022.

Henderson spent last season on loan with the Blades as they were promoted to the Premier League but the club are hopeful he can be their No 1 shot-stopper in the future.

He said: “The club has been amazing in designing an individual pathway to aid my development which will enable me to reach my potential and perform at the highest level possible.

“Signing this contract is such a proud moment for myself and my family; I’ve worked so hard to reach this point and I want to do everything I can to repay the faith the club has shown in me.

“I am looking forward to being back at Bramall Lane, the opportunity to be reunited with the coaches and play in front of the amazing fans again is one that I am relishing.

“I cannot wait to enjoy a full season of Premier League football which I know will be hugely beneficial for my career.”

17:25 UPDATE: Sarri on Dybala

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri appears to be planning for life with Paulo Dybala in his team despite interest from Tottenham and Manchester United.

Tottenham are said to be leading the chase for Dybala having made contact with the Italian giants over what would be a club-record deal.

He is also a long-term target for Manchester United and reports Italy say manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to team him up with Marcus Rashford in an all-star attack.

However, Sarri’s recent comments suggest he is key to his plans as he prepares for his first season in charge of the Serie A champions.

Sarri said: “I think Dybala can play as a false nine quite comfortably.

“We can also set up the attack slightly differently, with the 4-3-1-2 and Dybala playing on the right of a front two.

“We’ll try to give continuity to the good things we did in the second half [against Tottenham] in Singapore.”

Liverpool are in talks with Newcastle United and Aston Villa over the sale of Harry Wilson, according to reports.

Wilson scored 18 goals and laid on six assists in all competitions last term on loan at Derby County, who reached the Championship play-off final.

But with such competition for places in Jurgen Klopp’s squad, Liverpool are open to the sale of Wilson.

The Liverpool Echo have previously reported that the Reds would want £25million for the Welshman.

16:45 UPDATE: Pep Guardiola on Dani Alves

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has all but ruled out a move for Dani Alves despite hailing him as an “incredible player”.

Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with 36-year-old right-back who is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.

Alves and Guardiola worked together at Barcelona and the pair have been persistently linked with a reunion at the Etihad.

However, Guardiola insists he is not looking for a right-back because he already has enough options in that area.

“All the important clubs in the world knows his situation and the incredible player he is,” the City manager said.

“He is an extraordinary person, but we already have two incredible full-backs.”

16:20 UPDATE: Tottenham plan Paulo Dybala bid

Tottenham are reportedly preparing a bid for Juventus ace Paulo Dybala.

That’s according to The Times, with Dybala also linked with Manchester United.

Spurs have yet to to make contact with Serie A champions Juve about the 25-year-old.

The Times claim Spurs see their chances of signing Dybala as slim but want to make a statement of intent.

They would have to pay over £80m to sign the Argentine.

16:05 UPDATE: Arsenal scrap Zaha plans?

Arsenal look set to move on from Wilfried Zaha this summer as they ready a bid for an alternative winger.

According to the Mirror, Gunners chiefs are keen to pursue a £36million deal to sign Everton Soares from Gremio after his impressive Copa America campaign.

The 23-year-old winger finished as top scorer as Brazil took home the Copa America title and also scored 15 goals in 31 matches last season at club level.

Zaha had been Arsenal’s top target but Crystal Palace want £80m for the player, who is also of interest to Everton, who are said to be plotting a £60m bid.

15:45 UPDATE: Klopp on Liverpool transfers

Jurgen Klopp have been quiet in the transfer window – and the Liverpool boss says it is because their business has been about keeping their current squad together.

For the first time in the Premier League era the Reds have not lost a key player in the wake of a title challenge.

“That’s actually our transfers, these are our transfers,” the German said when asked about his recent dealings.

“In our case it was [that] these are our transfers.

“These new contracts, keeping these boys here, was a strong, strong signal for the outside world. It’s a wonderful sign, to be honest.

“I like the fact that these boys are really in a good football age, they won this cup, which is good. It helps of course because it increases your basis.”

15:30 UPDATE: Coutinho to Man Utd

Barcelona reckon only three clubs can afford to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The Brazil international has struggled to impress at the Nou Camp after quitting Liverpool in January 2018.

Barcelona have been tipped to sell the playmaker this summer as the Spanish giants look to create funds for a move for Neymar.

And according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want £107m (€120m) for Coutinho this summer.

The Spanish giants supposedly believe only Manchester United, Manchester City and PSG could stump up the money to sign Coutinho in the coming weeks, however.
