Former Towie star Mario Falcone has shared his disappointment in believing former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has taken his crown as a ‘love rat’ as he admitted to Googling old stories about his naughty ways to prove he still had the edge over the MP.

Talking about reputation, the former reality TV star touched on recent events in politics with his ex-co-star Pete Wicks and First Dates’ Cici Coleman, as he claimed he felt he had had his ‘love rat’ title stripped from him by the politician.

Speaking on FUBAR Radio’s The Dating Show, he said: ‘It’s really funny because obviously the first thing with all the Matt Hancock stuff that came out last week [is] he took my love rat Daily Mail handle! Literally: “love rat Matt Hancock”.’

The former Health Secretary stepped down from his cabinet position last Saturday after footage of him kissing aide and university friend Gina Coladangelo in his ministerial office was leaked from May, which also revealed him to be ignoring the social distancing rules he had imposed.

Mario revealed that he was ‘absolutely buried in my boys’ chat’ after he ‘lost his crown’ to Hancock, but didn’t appear to be ceding his title that easily.

‘I even went back through the archives of Google to try and find every story. I said like, “No boys, there’s levels to this game,”’ he admitted.

However, after the banter, the 33-year-old father of one showed that his ‘love rat’ reputation from his tenure on Towie wasn’t something he held dear to his heart.

‘It was my legacy from Towie, yeah,’ he said. ‘What a great legacy, you know?’

Mario joined the show in 2011 as Lucy Mecklenburgh’s love interest and spent the next 13 series building up a reputation as a bit of a lothario after he and Lucy, who he was engaged to, became embroiled in cheating dramas.

However, he now claims that he ‘doesn’t care’ if people hold him to his bad reputation as the people who ‘matter’ to him ‘know the change in me’ and are ‘proud’ of it.

Maintaining that he would do ‘anything’ for his two-year-old son and his fiancée Becky Miesner, he continued: ‘Everybody else, I couldn’t give a f**k what you think. I didn’t give a f**k back then when I was a player and I was a love rat and I was a d**khead in my twenties.

‘I certainly don’t care now, when I’m not.’

Becky, a make-up artist and salon owner who is also from Essex, had known Mario for 10 years before they got together, with Mario claiming she had turned him down in the past but when they finally embarked on a relationship, she saw he was ‘ready to settle down’.

The full interview with Mario is available on Fubar Radio and The Dating Show airs every Friday at 6PM via fubarradio.com.
