TWO tourists slammed a “disgusting” restaurant in Rome after being charged €429 (£381) for their meal.
They posted an image of their receipt which showed a €80 (£71) service fee bill – prompting criticism online.

The Japanese tourists ordered two plates of fish and spaghetti and some water at Antico Caffè di Marte.
They posted the picture on TripAdvisor.
Fellow customers said the charges were a “rip-off” and “disgusting thievery”.
Other tourists shared their own complaints about the restaurant, with one couple charged €476 (£422) for fish.

The restaurant, however, said the two Japanese tourists knew exactly what they were doing when ordering and had no right to complain after receiving the bill.
Speaking to the Italian daily Corriere de la Sera, the owners said their “menu is clear, the reason they (the Japanese tourists) paid that price is because they not only ordered the spaghetti but also the fish that was fresh”.
“The customers chose it at the counter themselves.
TripAdvisor has since suspended new reviews of the website following the incident.

A group of tourists were charged €82 (£72) for eight soft drinks in Greece.
Another tourist was charged a whopping €836 (£737) at a restaurant in Mykonos.
The receipt, posted to TripAdvisor, shows he was charged €591 (£521) for just six pieces of calamari.
A group of tourists were offered a free luxury hotel stay in Venice after they were forced to pay €1,100 (£970) for some steaks and fish.
The Venetian Hoteliers Association said they hoped to improve the city’s image following the incident.
A couple were charged €80 for two burgers and three coffees in Rome – although social media users slammed the tourists for having burgers and coffee at 11am.
