A RUSSIAN couple left stranded in Thailand due to the pandemic have been found living in a cave for the past month.
The duo were found by police living amongst the rocks on the coast of Krabi, a popular tourist destination.

They told local authorities that they had been using a camp fire to stay warm at night and were surviving on scraps of food.
The holidaymakers said that they arrived in Thailand two months ago but were kicked out of their hotel at the start of April when the coronavirus situation worsened.
Areas of the country, including Krabi, shut down hotels and tourist resorts to prevent the spread of the virus.
Since then, the couple, who are both in their 30s, have been living in the cave at Tonsai Bay in the Ao Nang district, as they had no contacts and were trying to survive by themselves.
They were forced to contact the police last month after their camera and drone were stolen, but the case was dropped after being unable to find the culprits.
Police converged on the area and took the two tourists for health checks and coronavirus tests – which came back negative – before moving them to a free hotel which is remaining open for tourists.
According to local media, the Russian Embassy in Thailand were also notified of the couple for further assistance.
The tourists reportedly added that they wanted to stay in Thailand to avoid Russia due to the ongoing crisis.
Thailand currently has 2,792 confirmed cases compared to Russia, where there have been 42,853 infections.
